Product description
Very nice vintage silver design necklace from famous Dutch sculptor and goldsmith Menno Meijer from the city of Gouda. Meijer won the Bavarian State Prize (a gold medal) at the Kunsthandwerkmesse in Munich with his jewelry collection in 1963.
The original label "Gold-awarded Munich State Award 1963", visible on the photo, has been preserved with this piece of jewelry. This piece of jewelry is barely worn and both the pendant and the necklace part carry the maker's mark of Meijer.
The now 89-year-old Meijer is inextricably linked to the history of modern (Dutch) jewelry. A great opportunity to get a piece of that history, now that prices are still attractive.
