Beautiful and very special antique 14 carat gold oval shaped earrings with stone pearls, made in the period 1853-1906. This is mourning jewelry, which was made and worn especially in memory of the passing of a loved one. In the middle of the earring an oval is placed in which the initials of the deceased are written down: F vd M. Moreover, behind the glass of the oval (and circling the initials,) there is also some hair of the deceased to be found. The oval of each of the two earrings is surrounded by 12 stone pearls: In total there are 24. The yellow gold of the jewelry has a slight rose coloured hue. On the bottom(side) of the earring you can click the earring open or closed. The length of the entire oval ornament (including the pearls) is approx. 12.48 mm and the width is approx. 9.57 mm. The length of the entire earring is approx. 18.25 mm and the total weight is 2.1 grams.
