Very special antique 14 carat gold & silver ring with rose cut diamond, dating from the 19th century. The ring is inlaid with 19 rose cut diamonds (old cut) of varying sizes. The ring is largely 14 carat yellow gold, but the top layer / setting - where the diamonds are located - is silver. At that time, the settings of diamonds were almost always silver, because it was softer and easier to process than gold. The dark color of the top of the ornament is due to the oxidation of the silver: this however is part of the design of the ring.
The diameter of the middle and largest diamond is approx. 4.75 mm. The width of the ornament with the diamonds is approx. 18.48 mm, the length is approx. 16 mm and the height is approx. 7.52 mm. The ring size is 18/58 and the weight is 5.2 grams.
