Product description
Truly stunning and very special antique 14 carat gold & silver brooch with rose cut diamond, made in the period 1906-1953. The brooch is inlaid with many rose cut diamonds (old cut) of varying sizes. The ornament is largely 14 carat yellow gold, but the top layer / setting - where the diamonds are located - is silver. At that time, the settings of diamonds were almost always silver, because it was softer and easier to process than gold. The dark color of the top of the ornament is due to the oxidation of the silver: this however is part of the design of the brooch. The width of the brooch is approx. 89.70 mm. The maximum length of the piece of jewelry - the middle part of the ornament with the largest diamond - is approx. 15.10 mm. The depth of the brooch (including the pin) is approx. 13.20 mm. The weight is 10 grams.
