Gorgeous and delicate antique 14 carat gold filigree earrings, made in the period 1873-1913 by J. Kooimans in Schoonhoven. The yellow gold of the jewelry has a slight rosé coloured hue. The special color of the jewelry is obtained because it is fire-gilded. At that time - to create a certain colour - the gold was fire gilded. However, as a result of the passing of the years, the underlayer oxidized, causing it to be affected and thus causing the color change of the gold (in certain parts of the earrings). The color difference, however, also gives the jewelry a very extraordinary look, thus makes it a real unique piece!
The entire length of the earring is approx. 71 mm and the widest part of the earring is approx. 23.15 mm. The total weight is 6.9 grams. The earrings open and close at the front (just above the filigree ornament): The earrings can be put on by first inserting it through the back of the earlobe and then close it at the front.
