Very beautiful antique ring with turquoise and pearl from Birmingham England, hallmarked in 1878. The ring is 9 carat gold (37,5%), which, allthough common in the UK, is considered to be of to low a fineness to be legally called gold in The Netherlands, where 14 carat (58,5%) is considered the minimum fineness.
